2025

No matter what the time of year, we can be sure the sun will shine in Southwold, but that doesn’t mean it will be warm. So we keep busy during the early months. And cutting back the willow fedge certainly does that for you! And cleaning inside the poly tunnel is a job we flight over doing lol.

But we did all enjoy trying our hand at willow weaving some obelisks, that we think didn’t turn out that bad. And with a fresh coat of wood preserve on our She Shed, we were ready for he summer season to arrive.

And this summer we started a Crafting Club and a Talking Plants group too. So this site is certainly growing organically now

2024

It was so good to be able to plant out this year. Still being conscious that we may lose some produce to the rabbits - but it’s their land, so we do our best to work around them!

Southwold does seem to have it’s very own micro climate, and there were times it was just too hot to work (we are not complaining) But it did put a strain on the limited water source we have. We also decided to stop cutting the grass, but instead just mow pathways around each raised bed. And we’ve scattered a variety of wild flower seeds around, so fingers crossed that we reap the rewards the next couple of years.

2023

It’s been a very busy season so far, with the poly tunnel being erected (that was a MAMMOUTH task too!) To then being able to grow our first crops of peppers-chillies and aubergines. We’ve created more quirky planters. Invested in an apply press. Created some colour with these beautiful violas, and some climbers to creep along the fence line. Now just waiting to have the patio laid. It’s a good job the kettle’s always on eh!

No two days are the same, so why not come along to see for yourself

2023

The space is an ongoing project, but it’s so much fun making plans and working out what should go where and what colour to paint the next planter, or what flowers shall we plant in the fence buckets?

We are open to any local woman on a weekly basis - THURSDAY’s 10.30am - 1.30pm for now. So if you would like to come along to find out what we’re all about, the kettle will be on. We really want this to be a space where all women feel able to Learn Laugh & Grow.

2022

What a journey we’ve had to get this far. But with local businesses supporting us, we’ve got there!
